Two Ducks in River, Mountains and Snow
For over thirty years, Craig Nelson has been an oil painter on the contemporary California Art scene. After graduating from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, he became a well known artist in the movie industry, as well as working with many publishers in books and album covers for Capitol Records, Sony, and MGM. As a major award winner, Craig has won over 200 awards of excellence in competitions, including five Gold Medals, four Silver Medals, and magazine covers.
Nelson's works are housed in various permanent collections, including The U.S. Air Force, Toyota Corporation, Walt Disney Studios, Sony Music, The University of California Los Angeles, Frank Sinatra, Neil Simon, James Garner, Sammy Davis Jr., Warner Brothers, Inc., and Columbia Pictures.
Nelson has been selected as finalist for the National Arts for the Parks Competition every year for the past ten years. He now devotes much of his time to teaching at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco as co-Director of the Graduate School of Fine Art.
Craig Nelson is a member of the Oil Painters of America, The American Society of Portrait Artists, and is a Signature Member of the California Art Club.
